January review and goals for February

Let’s review my January goals πŸ™‚

Chinese

  • Chinesepod – 15-20 minutes every day – YES
  • Memrise – 15-20 minutes every day – YES
  • Italki – one session every 2 weeks (I reduced italki this month because of myΒ Chinesepod marathonΒ that I mentioned here) – YES, we had 3 sessions on Jan
  • Watch C-Drama – every day – YES

We finished all our C-dramas right by the end of January and are now taking a short break watching Japanese “Alice in Borderland”.

Indonesian

  • Memrise – 10 minutes every day – YES
  • Indonesian Zoom class – one hour a week on Fridays – YES

Indonesian exam was on 26th January, it was quite challenging, but it makes me happy, I prefer to be challenged while learning useful stuff rather than having to memorise things like colors. I don’t know if there will be a A2 course or when it will start, so after the exam I’m taking a break from Indonesian.

Korean

  • Memrise – 5 minutes a day – YES
  • Journal in italki – once a week – NO πŸ™
  • Read Webtoon – once a week – NO πŸ™
  • Language exchange call – twice a week – I had 4 times a week!!! Probably this is why I didn’t have energy to journal or read in Korean after the calls
  • Chat with friends on Kakao Talk – every other day – very little, I’m too lazy to type because I’m so out of practice πŸ™

Goals for February:

Chinese

  • Chinesepod – 15-20 minutes every day until 12th Feb when subscription runs out, copy all the new words into our Memrise, save all the dialogues for repetitive listening practice later
  • Memrise – 15-20 minutes every day
  • Italki – one session every week
  • After 12th Feb – come back to Yoyo Chinese – every other day
  • Explore all the books and courses I downloaded, choose which ones can be useful
  • Repetitive Listening with Shadowing – twice a week
  • Watch C-Drama – when we find a good one

Korean

I’m currently having language exchange calls so often, 4 times a week, that I don’t have time and energy to read or write and I feel like it’s affecting my speaking, I’m not progressing much at all even though I speak for like 4 hours a week now. So this month, with Indonesian on pause, I’d definitely like to read and write more.

  • Memrise – 5 minutes a day
  • Journal in italki – once a week
  • Read Webtoon – once a week
  • Language exchange call – 3x a week
  • Chat with friends on Kakao Talk – once a week
  • Find the Intermediate Korean Grammar in Use and read it – 2x a week
